Ira Perlman - Folk and Roots Music

Ira is a LI based Folk Singer and a Past President of the Folk Music Society of Huntington.

Not a “singer/songwriter” the focus is on songs written by others. Some songs were written during the “folk boom” of the 50s and 60s and some date farther back in history and were collected throughout the US and Europe. Occasionally there is an original sprinkled into the mix.

While no one will deny the influence of the “Folk” Performing groups such as Peter Paul and Mary, Kingston Trio, etc. his music goes back to those who influenced them.

Ira performs locally on Long Island at open mikes and the occasional individual show as well as with Denise Romas in "Lonesome Traveler" a tribute concert to Lee Hays, the Almanacs and the Weavers.
